This device is indicated for the removal of leukocytes from a pool of up to 5-6 units of random donor platelets or the equivalent amount of apheresis produced platelets at blood bank before transfusion.

It can effectively prevent ineffective platelet transfusion, leukocyte carrying virus infection and other blood transfusion reactions.
